Help us act now.

High heat and heavy humidity create the conditions parasites need to thrive. For rescued pigs and farm animals, this is not just uncomfortable. It can quickly become a serious health and welfare issue.

That is why we need help now.

Cotton Branch is raising urgent funds for safe parasite control across the refuge so we can protect our rescued residents before this gets worse.

The pigs deserve relief. They deserve comfort. They deserve protection.

OUR GOAL: $5,000

What’s The Plan?

Cotton Branch uses a three-step parasite control plan each year to help protect the animals during hot, humid months.

1. Diatomaceous Earth
Used carefully in dry barn areas to help reduce parasite pressure where appropriate.

2. Beneficial Nematodes
Applied in outdoor soil and sandy areas to help target parasites at earlier life stages.

3. Permethrin Treatment
Used as a targeted treatment for pigs and barn areas, under professional guidance and according to label directions.

Together, these steps help us protect the animals, care for their living spaces, and reduce parasites before they become a larger problem.

Parasite control is animal care.

Parasites can affect a pig’s skin, comfort, bedding, environment, and overall health. In the middle of a South Carolina summer, prevention and treatment cannot wait.

Our residents depend on us to stay ahead of these problems, especially when the weather turns hot, wet, and relentless.
