Our Mission
Cotton Branch Refuge Project exists to provide lifelong refuge for pigs who have been neglected, abused, abandoned, or simply had nowhere else to go. We meet their needs with consistent care, safe housing, proper nutrition, enrichment, and veterinary support, and we stay with them for as long as it takes.
We also exist to close a gap that is easy to overlook. Cats and dogs have systems built around them. Wildlife has dedicated rescue networks. Pigs often fall through the cracks, even though they are intelligent, sensitive, and deeply social. Our work is to be the place that does not look away, and to make sure these pigs are not treated as disposable when circumstances change.
Refuge is only the beginning. We commit to rehabilitation when it is possible, comfort when it is not, and dignity in every season of life. At the same time, we share what we learn, because lasting change happens when more people understand what pigs are like, what they need, and why sanctuaries matter.
We welcome a community built on follow through. Supporters, volunteers, adopters, and partners who believe compassion should be practical, not performative. Together, we create a refuge where pigs are safe, cared for, and valued, every day, for life.
