Our Mission
Cotton Branch Refuge Project exists to create refuge for animals and people who need a safe place to land.
We provide lifelong care for pigs who have experienced neglect, abuse, abandonment, or displacement, giving them the safety, medical care, nutrition, enrichment, and consistency they need to heal.
That same environment can also help people.
Through our mental health and therapeutic programs, we create opportunities for veterans, children, people who have experienced trauma, and other vulnerable members of our community to connect with animals in a setting built around trust, patience, and compassion. Animals meet people where they are, without judgment or expectation.
Our goal is for Cotton Branch to be a place where veterans can find moments of peace, children can build confidence and empathy, and people facing trauma, grief, isolation, or other challenges can experience meaningful connection.
At the same time, we continue addressing a major gap in animal welfare by providing refuge for pigs who often fall through traditional rescue systems.
By caring for animals, supporting people, and bringing the two together, Cotton Branch is creating a place where healing can happen on both sides of the fence.
